Description
The University of Pennsylvania’s Guesthouse project was comprised of a pair of victorian townhouses that were repurposed into a home base for scholars and local leaders. This building is used to welcome important guests to campus, provide a place for strategic and trustee meetings and acts as a touch down space for visitors and special events. Interior updates include revisions to offices and suites to serve University dignitaries during short-term stays. The historic Walnut Street facade was preserved during the renovations and the primary entrance was reoriented to the south side of the building facing Locust Walk with a fully accessible of shared motor court. A new roof, re-glazed original windows and decorative repairs were all part of the building’s historic preservations. The rear and east side of the building feature a new terracotta facade which is fitting pairing to the existing brink of the original building. This facility is hoe to the Perry World House and the Kelly Writers House.
