Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
ARC 4th Floor Wet Lab
The CHOP ARC 4th Floor Test of Change Project is a meticulous 7,000 square foot lab and office space revitalization within the prestigious Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This project involved a complete interior overhaul, including MEP infrastructure demolition, while ensuring the uninterrupted operation of adjacent spaces. Interior finishes and furnishings were thoughtfully removed, signaling a fresh start. The redesigned lab space was tailored for enhanced efficiency, featuring innovative casework solutions and the removal of redundant processes to optimize the lab and support rooms. Infrastructure upgrades included advanced lighting and mechanical equipment for precise zone control, robust systems integration for efficient reporting to CHOP Facilities, and a comprehensive lab casework, finishes, and layout overhaul. The lab casework is adaptable to future user needs. Preconstruction services were integral, with Target’s estimators and project managers actively contributing to GMP development and maintenance over several months. Close collaboration with the Design Group ensured the successful realization of the GMP and schedule, potentially exceeding expectations during construction.
