Family Practice Center – Maple Shade

This project involved a full interior renovation of the Virtua General Practice in Maple Shade, NJ. A key challenge was ensuring that the practice remained open and fully operational while construction was underway. To achieve this, the renovation was carefully phased into five stages. During Phase 1 mobilization, unexpected conditions arose when visible asbestos was discovered in the flooring after slab cutting for trenching. Additionally, a second slab was uncovered, requiring abatement. Despite these challenges, the project team worked closely with Virtua to maintain seamless transitions between phases, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care. In addition to upgraded finishes, the renovation included comprehensive MEP system improvements, highlighted by the installation of a new air handling unit (AHU). Given the practice’s vital role in the community, completing the project efficiently while maintaining operations was a top priority.
