Temple Health

Fox Chase Cancer Center Pharmacy Renovation

This 800 square foot pharmacy renovation at Temple Hospital focused on upgrading a critical healthcare space to meet modern standards for safety, efficiency, and compliance. The renovated area included the addition of a new anteroom, IV preparation room, extemporaneous compounding (ex temp) area, and dedicated storage space. These upgrades were designed to improve workflow, support sterile compounding processes, and increase overall operational capacity. The major challenge during this project was completing construction while the Pharmacy remained active, given the hospital’s need for continuous pharmaceutical operations. This made infection control was a top priority; HEPA-filtered negative air machines, temporary partitions, and strict containment procedures were implemented to prevent contamination and disruption. Despite logistical and operational challenges, the renovation was successfully completed without interrupting pharmacy services.
