Our team executed a dynamic 12-week renovation project that brought a fresh lease of life to the University of Pennsylvania’s bustling dining hall, a cornerstone of their staff’s daily experience. The initiative kicked off with a comprehensive kitchen demolition, making way for the installation of cutting-edge MEP equipment. Notably, we undertook the removal of underground sanitary lines, replacing them with new systems to support the latest equipment, ensuring optimal functionality. The extensive restoration work extended to the existing concrete slab, where we thoroughly reconditioned the stone walls, concrete walls, and the deck, breathing new vitality into the space. Further enhancements encompassed the replacement of 75% of the terrazzo flooring and the thoughtful installation of active wall-folding gates, enabling versatile space division. As a final touch, sliding mesh inserts were artfully integrated into the restaurant spaces, encapsulating the project’s commitment to combining practicality and aesthetic appeal in perfect harmony.
