Torresdale Hospital – Central Utility Plant

At TJU Torresdale Hospital, Target Building is constructing a new Central Utility Plan that will serve the entire facility. The infrastructure upgrades include complete replacement of the existing heating & chiller plants, cooling towers, & several mechanical/plumbing infrastructure components. Further, a new (3) story steel structure is being installed in the adjacent loading dock courtyard which will be the new location of the new self-contained electrical E-House & new cooling towers. Target Building continues to coordinate with the facility as construction of the new heating plant is substantially complete. A sequencing plan was developed & executed without any hospital disruptions during the heating plant turnover. Target Building is focusing on the next phase which consists of the chiller plant installation & steel structure erection. Thoughtful planning of the next phases included months of BIM modeling which will aid in installation efficiency & identify servicing locations that are accessible to the facility after project turnover.
